Uninsured Adults With Chronic Illnesses Use More Health Care Services When They Qualify For Medicare Than Those Who Were Insured, Study Finds
Uninsured adults with common chronic illnesses had greater health expenditures and more frequent physician office visits and hospitalizations after they became eligible for Medicare compared with those who had insurance before age 65, according to a study published Thursday in the New England Journal of Medicine, Reuters reports.
